They told me in 1956 when they realized that the new Rock ‘n’ Roll was the biggest thing in music, they changed their format to play only Rock ‘n’ Roll. They started this change with a BANG. For three days in a row, without any advertisements, news, etc. they played a record by Elvis over and over and over. This was an attention getter for sure. Folks would realize this was THE station for the new music.
